Everyone's maximum is different, and there are modifications for different fitness levels. Push yourself, but there's no reason to overextend. It doesn't get you results faster. In fact, it usually has the opposite effect.

Published in 2020, the study's findings didn't conclusively prove that HIIT extends lifespan, but they did reveal that HIIT notably enhances life quality and cardiorespiratory fitness more effectively than moderate-intensity exercises.

Both physical and mental quality of life were better in the high-intensity group after five years compared to the other two groups. High-intensity interval training also had a greater effect on cardiorespiratory fitness after one, three, and five years compared to the other two groups.

Complementing these findings, a 2017 research indicated that HIIT might initiate cellular transformations that augment the muscles' capacity for energy production.
