#153- The Phone Ringer PLUS Actionable Metrics You CAN Use

When we play pickleball, we get hung up on metrics that are not helpful and that actually end up being potentially destructive to your game.

The most common metric is win-loss. In this podcast I get into two different types of metrics and give you some ideas to pick a metric that’s right for you.

The first grouping are big picture metrics which will help you greatly improve your relationship with Pickleball. Pickleball offers us so much that these big picture metrics will help you grow as a player and enjoy the game more than just looking at a win-loss situation.

Here’s an example of a big picture metric- Pick a metric, lock it in, meaning that you make it your metric, then measure yourself against that metric.

Also focus on partner metrics to become the best partner every player looks forward to playing with. There’s really nothing better than that.

Listen to these and more metrics on this episode.

18:38- Actionable Advice to Improve Your Pickleball Game

23:22- Using Reframing Techniques to Enhance Your Pickleball Experience

In the riff I’m going to explain the mystery of the phone ring that we have at the beginning of every episode;

Why the ringer is in there and to make some suggestions on how to address the ringer, if it’s something that you’d like for it to be something different.

Hola. Hello. Konichiwa. After 40 years playing tennis, I am now a full-time pickleball player and professional. As a 5.0 rated Senior Pro Pickleball Player and an IPTPA-certified Master Teaching Professional, my focus is on helping players like you learn to play their best pickleball. In 2016, shortly after starting to play pickleball, my friend Tom and I jumped into the highest division at the first US Open in Naples, Florida. That morning it became clear just how much there is to learn in this seemingly simple sport – a lifetime of learning if you so choose. Since 2018, I have been on a mission to share my knowledge of pickleball so other players can enjoy the game at a higher level and attain their pickleball objectives. When not studying or playing pickleball, I like to travel with my other half, Jill.
