#135- Using Your SuperComputer for Better Pickleball
“Wait, I have a super computer?” you may ask. You 100% have one. And it is powerful.
Makes ChatGPT (and all computers or programs) green with envy. There is a good chance, though, that you are not using it to its fullest capabilities when you are playing pickleball.
One example: where are you aiming your serve? Specifically. Height over the net? Specifically. If you are not providing your super computer with specific instructions you cannot be surprised when it does not do what you want. It, after all, had no clear directions.
You can change this by starting to give your super computer (your brain, of course) clear directives. Each shot. You will play better pickleball.
Next time you’re playing or if you’re heading out to the courts, give some thought to your super computer, and start simple.
Listen to this podcast and learn how to activate your supercomputer and use that super computer to our advantage when we’re playing pickleball.
Chapters:
00:00- Activating Your Supercomputer for Pickleball Success
05:27- Pickleball Serve: Setting Clear Goals to Improve Your Game
09:58- Activating Your Pickleball Supercomputer and Finding Life Perspective
In the riff, I share with you a personal story to help us gain context and perspective.
We can train ourselves to have a healthier perspective when we’re out there playing. And to understand that things like that game that was lost, that while it’s not your preferred outcome, at the end of the day, is it really the type of thing worth becoming that upset?
Maintain your perspective, enjoy the game, fight hard, compete and do your best while playing.

Hola. Hello. Konichiwa. After 40 years playing tennis, I am now a full-time pickleball player and professional. As a 5.0 rated Senior Pro Pickleball Player and an IPTPA-certified Master Teaching Professional, my focus is on helping players like you learn to play their best pickleball. In 2016, shortly after starting to play pickleball, my friend Tom and I jumped into the highest division at the first US Open in Naples, Florida. That morning it became clear just how much there is to learn in this seemingly simple sport – a lifetime of learning if you so choose. Since 2018, I have been on a mission to share my knowledge of pickleball so other players can enjoy the game at a higher level and attain their pickleball objectives. When not studying or playing pickleball, I like to travel with my other half, Jill.

I loved the podcast and found it super helpful. It helped me focus on what is important and even recalibrate a little. Thank you.
Great podcast about the supercomputer. I’ll be using this method next time out. I play in a tournament next weekend and I think this will help myself and my partner.
Thanks for your perspectives on the game.
Thanks, Tony…grateful for your heartfelt reminder that it’s a game, not life!
Thank you CJ. I enjoyed the podcast and I am definitely going to instruct my brain where to aim my serves. And to shake off feelings of not being good enough when playing with people more advanced than me in open plays. Best of luck to you and Tony at the US Open.
Great Riff, Tony!
It’s all about perspective!
Enjoy listening to you Tony and CJ. I will be playing pickleball in the morning so I will put my Super Computer to work.
