#131- Do You Have a Pickleball GPS Guiding You?

Ever use GPS to find your way somewhere new to you? Pretty helpful right?

Otherwise, you are stopping at gas stations and asking passers by where this road is or that. If you are using a map and get turned around North to South or East to West and you’ll be driving in circles all day.

GPS alleviates all that headache and gets you where you are going with amazing accuracy – in terms of time and location.

Works the same in pickleball. If you have a GPS system that can get you from Point A (where you are now) to Point B (where you are headed), you will save endless time and headache getting there.

And if you don’t have one, I highly recommend you check out THE Pickleball System.

I’ll also give you an example of how I used that GPS system recently. I was playing, and I was doing some things that were causing some errors in my shots. What I did you can do too.

Listen to this episode as I discuss the concept of a Pickleball GPS System for you.

Chapters:

00:00- Finding your Pickleball GPS

04:33 – The benefits of using a reliable GPS system

09:26 – Navigating your improvement and growth in Pickleball

13:27- March 2023 Pickleball System Class

In the riff, I share with you a common fallacy we engage in (no criticism as the thought is only natural): what is the “new” thing I need to improve my game?

The answer is generally: nothing, you just need to get better with the “old” things.

The game and the relevant information that will help you play your best pickleball doesn’t change. That’s the trick.

What’s changed is you as a player.

Hola. Hello. Konichiwa. After 40 years playing tennis, I am now a full-time pickleball player and professional. As a 5.0 rated Senior Pro Pickleball Player and an IPTPA-certified Master Teaching Professional, my focus is on helping players like you learn to play their best pickleball. In 2016, shortly after starting to play pickleball, my friend Tom and I jumped into the highest division at the first US Open in Naples, Florida. That morning it became clear just how much there is to learn in this seemingly simple sport – a lifetime of learning if you so choose. Since 2018, I have been on a mission to share my knowledge of pickleball so other players can enjoy the game at a higher level and attain their pickleball objectives. When not studying or playing pickleball, I like to travel with my other half, Jill.

Tony may recall that I once shared with him some training materials on coaching “The InsideOut Advantage” by Alan Fine. In it was a definition for “coach” from 1900 – a vehicle for conveying valued people where they want to go. Todays miniseries on GPS reminded me of that definition and the great coaching guidance provided by Tony and CJ.
