#127- Special Episode- 3 Tips to Help you Play your Best Today

Bookmark this episode because it gives 3 tips to help you feel better and play your best pickleball today.

  1. What’s one thing you’re going to focus on today to feel better, avoid distractions and play better?
  2. Why do you head to the courts to play?
  3. How do you build a positive dopamine loop?

The three tips are all aimed at helping you focus, help you play your best today, keep your mind straight and avoid potential distractions out on the court.

So how do you put them into practice?

For instance, your focus could be – I’m going to try and avoid the net on my third shot drops. So what happens if you hit the net with a third shot drop, and what do you need to do to avoid the net next time?’

What about your reason for playing? Why are you on your way to the courts? Whatever your reason is, think about it because it’s important, and I tell you why in this episode.

If you like this podcast and it helps you on your way to the courts, I recommend bookmarking it so that next time you’re heading out to the courts, you can just have it ready to go.

More specifically, here’s what you’ll listen to in the episode;

Hola. Hello. Konichiwa. After 40 years playing tennis, I am now a full-time pickleball player and professional. As a 5.0 rated Senior Pro Pickleball Player and an IPTPA-certified Master Teaching Professional, my focus is on helping players like you learn to play their best pickleball. In 2016, shortly after starting to play pickleball, my friend Tom and I jumped into the highest division at the first US Open in Naples, Florida. That morning it became clear just how much there is to learn in this seemingly simple sport – a lifetime of learning if you so choose. Since 2018, I have been on a mission to share my knowledge of pickleball so other players can enjoy the game at a higher level and attain their pickleball objectives. When not studying or playing pickleball, I like to travel with my other half, Jill.

    Thanks Tony. I do take time almost every day to think our Lord for the good health He has given me to play this great sport. I am 70 years old with one knee replacement and can still run back to get lobs and run back to the NVZ to get drops. I want to thank you for reminding folks to be grateful for this great game and our health. Thank you also for your great instructional videos.

    Tony,
    It has been tough playing around Denver lately, I’m talking weeks. Playing in doors usually means quite a few beginners. I have lost all my focus and I have so much noise in my head. This morning I listened to a podcast from C.J. and you had a video from Halle Sparr? Spelling, On how to cover the court. Listened to this podcasts again before meeting up with friends to play.
    I feel so much better now. Even with the cold and the wind the concentration seemed to be there. It was so much fun and as we left (started snowing) one lady said “I Needed That”. We all did!
    THANK YOU C J and Tony
